Following the U.S. Department of Energy 2007 Solar Decathlon, an internal design competition was held within the College of Architecture and Urban Studies. Students from varying backgrounds and majors were encouraged to enter in the competition to build upon the lessons of the 2005 Virginia Tech Solar House.
